Bea Mountain Endorses Raji, Konneh Second Term Ahead Of LFA Election

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division club, Bea Mountain has endorsed the second term bid of LFA president and Vice-president for Administration (VPA), Mustapha Raji and Sekou Konneh respectively head of LFA 2022 election.

Making the declaration over the weekend, at the TUSA Field in Gardnerville where his team settled to a 1-1 draw with Freeport FC, the Bea Mountain president, Henry Vincent said Raji, Konneh and few Executive Committee members need a second term due to the leadership they have exhibited in the transformation of Liberian football.

Mr. Vincent told journalists that if he had his own will, he would have pushed for an amendment of the LFA Statute for Raji and Konneh to contest as president and VPA of the LFA perpetually.

The Bea Mountain boss also used the time to call on all football stakeholders to join hands and support Raji’s second term bid for football development.

Mr. Vincent further disclosed that he will be a candidate in the pending April LFA elections, but stated that he will announce which position he will contest in the soonest possible time.

Profiling Mr. Raji

Mustapha I Raji, a Liberian was born on June 22, 1976, in Grand Cape Mount County to a naturalized Liberian father who migrated from Nigeria, as he is currently the president for the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

The LFA boss has spent a little over 27 years into football administration. Although he didn’t have the opportunity to play football while growing up (his parents’ focus was on academics) his passion for the game has kept him into football administration throughout his life.

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) was established in the year 1936 as a footballing organization in Liberia with the aim and objectives of controlling football activities in Liberia, the Liberia Football Association LFA is the leading governing body of football in Liberia.

Its office is located at the preliminary hall of Liberia football the famous open air Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia the capital city of Liberia.

On June 13, 1962 the Liberia Football Association (LFA) got affiliated with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as the six footballing organization to have joined the CAF.

Two years later the leadership of the LFA at that time did not stop at the CAF alone but chose to send in a letter of Communications to the governing body of football in the world knowing as the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) requesting that the LFA be a full member that will work under the way and pleasure of FIFA.

After having a series of discussion with Officials from FIFA, on September 28, 1964 the Liberia Football Association was approved and received it accreditation as a full member that will benefit a lot from FIFA.

LFA Presidency

Taking over as a leader of an institution is challenging, but more challenging in the case of Raji, thanks to Musa Shannon, who withdrew from the runoff election to pave the way for Raji to win on a white ballot.

Mustapha Ishola Raji is refer to as the greatest LFA president since 1936, his love, passion for the game and his professional leadership ability at the LFA has won him a lots of admirations both locally and Internationally for his level of work done at the LFA since he took over from Musa Hassan Bility as LFA president….

Many sports lovers and followers in Liberia refer to Raji as the man sitting in the right place at the time, his relationship with others workers at the LFA have taken Liberia Football to another Level…..

In February 2018 Mustapha Ishola Raji was invited by H. E Dr. Macron president of France as one of the beneficiary in furtherance of Liberian President Dr. George Weah official visit to Paris…

Due to his hard working ability on June 4 last year LFA president Raji was spotted by sports journalists while attending the CAF EXTRA ORDINARY ASSEMBLY with FIFA president Infantino all in attendance….

The LFA president also witness the signing agreement between FIFA and the French Development Agency (AFD) to create a positive change in society and the Communities where football will be used as a vehicle for education, development and social change.

With his level of work done at the LFA Raji was elected as Vice President for the West African Football Union Zone A.

Upon hearing the news Liberia chief patron of sports President George Weah took the social media to congratulate the LFA boss for such a great job and achievement in football.

With respect to the Country number one football legend Dr. Weah on September 11, 2018 the LFA Boss turned over the famous#14 jersey to the rightful owner after the Liberia and Nigeria friendly match at the famous SKD sports Stadium..

Since Mustapha Raji keep in as the LFA president, there have been some level of works and progress made at the local football house and the LFA national leagues…

It was under the LFA Boss influence that saw the FIFA president and CAF President coming to Liberia.
